Dr. Kayce Croy

Dr. Kayce Croy’s veterinary journey was inspired by a picture book that her mother used to read to her when she was only five years old. In the story, a veterinarian helps a puppy with a toothache, a pony with eye trouble, and a kitten with a stomachache. Although young Dr. Croy could barely read a sentence, she had her mind made up: she wanted to become a veterinarian herself!

As soon as she was old enough, Dr. Croy began volunteering with her local Humane Society and did so for her entire high-school career. She celebrated her 16th birthday by working a “neuterathon!” After high school, Dr. Croy earned her undergraduate degree in animal sciences at the University of Florida, interning at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to work in sea turtle and dolphin rescue during her studies. Dr. Croy remained at the University of Florida to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She then joined the Faulkville Animal Hospital team in 2015 and continues to serve the people and animals of the Bloomingdale, Pooler, Guyton areas, and beyond.

Around the clinic, Dr. Croy enjoys the variety that comes from working in mixed-animal practice; she just never knows what might walk through the door next! She’s also fond of surgery, emergency cases, feline medicine, and forming lasting bonds with our clients.

Outside of work, Dr. Croy enjoys hiking, watching football, reading comics, and spending time at home with her cats Myrtle, Elizabeth, and Oliver. Myrtle’s favorite activity is knocking things off of countertops and tables—all decorative objects in Dr. Croy’s apartment must be secured to the shelves they sit on using adhesive strips!
